Why must we have this Camping event? .... A poem by Board Member and
one of the original founders of CACO - Sivheng Ung, passionately conveys
in this beautiful poem why we exist. And this Camping even has a role
in our long running efforts to "Unite, Preserve, Empower". For
an english translation, please visit www.CACOregon.org.
Next year right? Well, this year’s event would not have been possible
with out collaborative team efforts from the CACO Youth Group, CACO Volunteers,
Laddie Buck of the Boy Scouts of America, Wayne and Karen of BSA, our
Sponsors Carlos Perez of Western Union, and Chong and Navee Tang UPS Store,
and of course DJ Sambo and his volunteers for bringing the music and entertainment
system.
In regards to the CACO volunteers, once again you went above
and beyond and delivered yet another fun event for more than 430 people.
In addition, James and Bunly for sacrificing your own personal fun with
friends and family to help with the many tables, chairs, and registration
of the early and late arrivals. Below are some of the volunteers who sweat
over the kitchen in preparation for the potluck style dinner that encourages
family, friends, and even strangers to bring a little dish to share with
the community. And the food was simply out of this world, but inside camp
Meriwether.
Now that you’ve met our passionate army of volunteers, how about we
go over day 1 to the very last and final days of camping? What did you
miss? Is it worth it to take a vacation for this annual community camping
event? Well maybe these pictures will convince you the next time.
