What is BOBism? One of CACO's dreams is to be able to send a handful of youth to Cambodia on a humanitarian mission. Each youth would be given a blank journal. He or she would begin his or her journal the minute the packing begins. The entire trip and experience would be logged in the journal. After he or she has returned, he or she would transform the journal into a paper. The paper would be submitted to CACO. Writers of the best few papers would be rewarded with some sort of a scholarship.Well, we are one step closer. One of our youth leaders have already journeyed into the heart of Cambodia with a large group of doctors and dentist from the North West Medical Team This is my 4th trip and this time, I'm accompanied by my wife, gramma, Mike Mahoney (BOBism Program Chairperson), along with my brothers and relatives had the fortunate opportunity to experience BOBism. And here you go, pictures that are worth a thousand emotions. Why do people give? Well, you ask the people in the Cambodian-American Community of Oregon, you ask the humanitarians from all walks of life from all over the world, why do they give? I believe the answer is quite similar if not exact. As for me, it makes me feel darn GOOD! I am not rich, I am not the smartest, I am not the best looking or the hippest dude on the planet. But the best part about giving is that you don't have to be any of that. You can simply just care enough to open your heart to the so many helpless and hopeless in a world ravaged by many years of war and suffering. Thank you to that Cambodian-American Community of Oregon and many friends who donated money and medicine just so that we'd have a chance to experience this giving. What a rewarding experience. May piece be in your hearts. May prosperity, good health, and safety be with you at all times.
Sincerely, Chanly & Sophorn
