This is the dried up pond before we hired someone to dig a new and much larger pond. Thanks to family, friends, and CACO for donating the financial support to help expense this pond. It cost $630 to dig the pond using heavy machinary (through a friend of the family, I'm sure it is more expensive). After it was dug, there were other expenses involved such as:

  • install water pump
  • cement cylinders to route water from the dikes to the pond
  • barb wire and cement fencing
  • paid employees (local vilagers)
    • Adult - 20,000 to 30,000 Reils per day (food/beverages included)
    • Children (they volunteered on their own accord, 10,000 to 15,000 Reils)
    • Note: this was much more than what they would normally make if they had a job. Which most do not.
  • In total, approximately $2500 (possibly more)
